Tyto Athene is seeking a Network Engineer to support an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies. This program will unify the DOD Fourth Estate Defense Agencies and Field Activities’ common use information technology systems, personnel, functions and program elements under the direction of DISA’s Fourth Estate Network Optimization program office.
Responsibilities:
- Design, maintain, and operate LAN, WAN, Wireless, Internet connectivity, utilizing Infrastructure as Code and Ansible Automation Platform
- Automate network changes across various vendor platforms and Azure Cloud.
- Plan, design, and migrate of DDI Services (InfoBlox)
- Provide DHCP, DNS and IPAM Solutions as a Service
- Provide secure network access to end users and devices using Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Assist multifunctional teams to help optimize and visualize network operations
- Conduct data captures to obtain network performance information.
- Provide input to the design of the organization's network and mission architecture.
- Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies
- Evaluate and support network architectures to ensure alignment to cloud and network modernization strategies, capabilities, and requirement sets
- Participate in the day-to-day execution of the enterprise architecture strategy via agile release schedules utilizing DevOps and CI/CD tool sets
- Work across multiple projects and systems to develop user stories, test cases, system design document, implementation plans, and SOPs
Qualifications:
- Experience architecting, deploying, and operating software defined networking (SDN) solutions
- Experience with DevOps principles and Automation Platforms such as Cisco DNA, Palo Alto Prisma, and Ansible
- Experience in planning, designing and migration of DDI Services (InfoBlox)
- Experience in DHCP, DNS and IPAM Solutions as a Service
- Experience with ISE (Identity Service Engine)
- Understanding technical security best particles and guidelines
- Knowledge of and experience with security policies, network security, data security and security event management
- Strong understanding of networking in the areas of LAN, WAN, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, Proxies, Routing(L2/L3), Firewalls, and SDN
- Strong scripting experience/background (using Python)
- Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST
- Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and a strong analytical ability
- Expertise in the Atlassian tool suite, to include JIRA and Confluence
- Current IAT Level II or higher Certification such as Security or CISSP
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Preferred:
- Demonstrate expertise in design and improvement of complex and geographically enterprise networks including geo-load balancing and datacenter network failover.
- Expert knowledge of DoD security requirements for network infrastructure.
- Demonstrate experience in system hardening of network infrastructure to include DoD STIG implementation.
- Certified Cisco Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent.
Clearance/Certification
- Possess a current SECRET clearance
- Current IAT Level II or higher Certification such as Security
