About the Position: Serves as mission support specialist, for MEDCoE G-3/5/7 Operations and Readiness, reporting directly to the G-3/5/7 Deputy Chief. Directs, and coordinates the efforts of a professional operations staff of various subject matter specialists with primary responsibility for providing organizational mission support and developing policy for administrative and operational procedures.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service which demonstrates experience working with a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or improvement of complex management processes and systems; maintaining unit operational readiness databases and developing reports and support graphics; developing and implementing policies, program guidance and objectives relating to assigned responsibilities and translating into operational management methods, systems, and operations; evaluating methods and management techniques in order to analyze unit operational readiness and preparedness issues related to command and control, as well as long-range operational planning. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
