Overview:
The construction engineers are primarily responsible for the utilization of bulldozers and other heavy equipment to help complete construction projects. They operate all manner of heavy machinery, including backhoes, excavators, and scrapers. In other words, horizontal construction engineers help pave the way for their fellow soldiers.
Job Duties:
- Drive bulldozers and road graders, as well as other heavy earth-moving equipment to clear and excavate.
- Use scrapers to cut and spread fill material, transport heavy construction equipment with tractor-trailers, and assist with combat engineer missions.
- Operate all-wheel vehicles and equipment over varied terrain and roadways
Some of the skills you’ll learn are:
- How to operate the different kinds of construction and rough terrain equipment they’ll use in their jobs.
- Learn about soil types and how to place grade stakes.
Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen or I-551 cardholder.
- Must be between the age of 17-34.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass a criminal background check with no open law violations.
- Must pass a drug screen.
- No felony.
- Must currently be in good health with no physical limitations.
Compensation:
Total compensation includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time.
