We are embarking on a multi-year journey to develop and deploy industry-leading wealth management platform in the cloud and are seeking a Software Engineering and Delivery Leader for our Brokerage and Advisor Platform Technology with leadership and execution experience to contribute towards the success of our technology initiatives.
This role will be responsible for leading and managing the end-end delivery and support of the platform and technical solutions for Advisor and brokerage functions, along with forming, growing, and leading the right size technical team comprised of internal and external talent. The role will work with senior leaders across Wealth Management business, product, architecture, and shared services teams to deliver long term strategic technical solutions to aid in business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and implementation of Brokerage platform and Advisor technology solutions including ongoing maintenance and support.
- Establish the team, defining the relevant roles, organization structure and operating model including engineering, architecture, and testing, and hiring and growing the talent.
- Lead and coach the team with an emphasis on engineering culture to grow an agile, empowered, and high-performing team.
- Define domain technology strategy and stack including build vs buy decisions, software selection, tech roadmap and alignment with business drivers and enterprise technology strategy.
- Partner with LOB business leaders and product managers to collaborate on product planning and roadmap and ensure delivery alignment.
- Partner with various technology teams including architecture, data services, cloud, security to drive solution delivery.
- Partner with and manage software vendors and external talent providers, including planning, and roadmaps.
- Manage the department financials and budget.
- Understand cross-team technology initiatives and roadmaps, identify synergy opportunities, collaborate, and contribute to positively impact the Wealth Management tech organization.
- Communicate effectively, both verbal and written to create alignment, manage and mitigate issues, and provide updates.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
- 6 – 8 years of relevant technical experience.
- 5 years of leading a software engineering team.
Skills Should Include
- 10 years of relevant technical experience.
- 8 years of leading a software engineering team.
- Demonstrated experience in building technical solutions in Financial Services and Wealth Management.
- Strong hands-on experience with and knowledge of modern full technology stack, including Java, API based architecture, REST/SOAP, microservices, distributed applications, cloud (Azure and AWS), integration protocols, SSO, web/mobile technologies – React, Node, SPA and data platforms.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps, containers, CI/CD, test automation.
- Strong experience leveraging 3rd party software and integrating with internal systems and applications.
- Demonstrated leaderships skills including defining and building a technology team will all key roles.
- Strong knowledge of Wealth Management domain and solutions landscape including key platforms and tech providers.
- Adept in Agile methodology, leading agile teams and experience working with Jira, Confluence, Git, and other SDLC tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to build strong relationships.
- Strong vendor management experience, including work planning, resource management, contracts.
- Demonstrated experience managing production support and continuous improvement.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
