Job Description

Digital Insights Analyst – Money Movement

Position Summary:

Working for an Analytics Manager, this individual will be responsible for day to day and ad-hoc insights and analytics. This is a business line support function that will provide reporting and analytics for the Chief Digital Office Money Movement segment. They will feel at ease querying and extracting large, raw datasets from various sources, merging and transforming raw data into usable data and analytic structures, loading transformed content into storage for current and future use, recommending key metrics and indicators to utilize, building and automating reporting and BI outputs, conducting quantitative analysis, as well as communicating and presenting findings and actionable insights to stakeholders and senior leadership. They must have strong technical and visualization skills, with the ability to understand the business goals, needs, and be committed to delivering recommendations that will guide strategic decisions.

This individual will also work to build strong and effective relationships across Enterprise Analytics and AI teams, the bank’s Digital teams, and the Enterprise to determine data requirements and ensure business needs are being answered in the most appropriate manner, in service of acquiring, deepening and retaining precious U.S. Bank Customer and Client relationships.

They will also possess a strong willingness to learn, teach and will aid in leading change across a matrixed organization. They will simplify complexity by successfully utilizing data and analytics tools & techniques to enable better, more customer-centered decisions. They will be well versed in advanced analytical tools and statistical techniques to separate “signal from noise” in order to derive insights that will help answer key business questions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as applied mathematics, economics, statistics, engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced user of analytics and BI tools & techniques to perform analysis and interpret data – some examples are: SQL, SAS, R, Python, Excel, Alteryx, Hadoop, etc.
  • Expert user of analytics data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Experience using Adobe Analytics or other web analytics tools and data
  • Expert in visual storytelling and presentation, including PowerPoint and other presentation tools
  • Demonstrated project management and organization skills
  • 5-7 years of experience in reporting and business intelligence, demonstrating a progressive increase in responsibility and scope

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services with knowledge of money movement products, customers, transactions and interaction data, including source systems a big plus
  • Experience working with payment or money movement data – specifically Zelle a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of database architecture and BI tools and structure
  • Ability to work and thrive in collaborative work environment as well as independently to drive results
  • Impeccable attention to detail, while being comfortable with data ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to influence change across a complex organization
