Responsibilities:
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for the administration and management of the MCCS Facilities and Maintenance, which includes overseeing facility and maintenance repair and projects, renovations, minor construction, budgeting, contract and bid proposals, facility planning, project planning, design contracting, project administration and control, and repair and maintenance of equipment in support of activities. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the construction repair and alteration of buildings and outdoor facilities. They will review and approve drawings and blueprints and provide recommendations to Operating Directors on interior space planning, workstation layout, vehicle access, and space management. Moreover, the incumbent will act as the primary point of contact with Base and Headquarters elements on construction and maintenance matters.
Plan, organize work, and manage internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepare internal office financial plans and related records and reports, and exercise authority on the approved budget. Regularly monitor programs and take corrective action to ensure support of operating programs of MCCS. Manage new property resources and may provide direction on facility renovations and improvements. Develop long-range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives and exercise internal personnel management authorities as delegated by the higher-level supervisor concerning subordinate supervisors and employees in the office. Directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors, supervise employees, counsel and train employees, schedule, and direct work, and appraise work performance. Moreover, the Construction Supervisor approves or disapproves leave and personnel actions. They must also be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action. Additionally, the incumbent must effectively support the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies and ensure compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs. They are also responsible for maintaining and enforcing the security of funds, merchandise, supplies, and equipment to prevent or minimize the potential for fraud, waste, and abuse.
