The incumbent of this position serves as the Assistant Director for Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System (JPATS) with full technical responsibility for managing, administering, investigating, training, and executing the development, implementation, and operation of programs and policies pertaining to prisoner enforcement and transportation programs, and JPATS business management; to include allegations of new criminal activity while in transit. JPATS is responsible for scheduling and transporting pretrial and sentenced prisoners throughout the United States and its territories. This includes maintaining security and the transportation of United States Marshals Service and Bureau of Prisons (BOP), High-Risk/High-Profile, United States military, state, and local government prisoners. The incumbent must have prior law enforcement and business management experience, at the senior level, and possess experience in aviation management, aviation standards, and ensures compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements, general transportation, perimeter/site security procedures, threat investigations, criminal investigations, Continuity of Government, administration, and liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
