What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Controller position at U.S. Merchants?
Job Responsibilities -
Reconcile a variety of accounts and reports for ensuring accuracy
Research discrepancies in financial information and/or documentation (ie. purchase orders, vendor invoices, etc.) for ensuring accuracy
Oversees reports regarding cash flow
Ensure correct payments are made in a timely manner
Review handling and coding of invoices to maintain general ledger expense account
Analyze expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment
Generate checks for signature by reviewing backup support and applicable records
Timely preparation of accounts payable reports and purchase journals
Maintain various fiscal information, files, and records to provide up to date reference and audit trail.
Ensure proper recordkeeping of purchases
Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records
Clarify questionable items, prices, or discrepancies and compare with system;
Working with Purchasing Managers; follow up with warehouse on other questions as they arise;
Assist, guide, and instruct support staff on transaction problems requiring resolution
Perform supervisory function for the accounts payable department.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience -
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions
Excellent supervisory and analytical skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong data entry and computer skills; use of JDE Edwards or other type of Accounting software
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
