Packaging Equipment/Electrical Controls Technician
Large packaging & manufacturing company with multiple facilities in the Ontario California area seeks experienced electrical controls/Industrial maintenance technician to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting, integrating, troubleshooting & improving the equipment operations within our different facilities. You will work closely with our operations management group for equipment upkeep strategy & troubleshooting electrical & controls on equipment.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns & emergency repairs to maintain production equipment in working capacity.
- Diagnose, inspect, & repair complex interrelated processes in packaging equipment within a manufacturing environment
· Support equipment with special focus on advanced troubleshooting on control systems, servo drives, motors, HMIs, & PLCs on complex high speed packaging lines
- Provide preventative maintenance & repair of equipment with a focus on electrical systems.
- Reading & updating electrical & control schematics, and equipment diagrams
- Providing technical support/skills for equipment troubleshooting & controls/equipment modifications
- Troubleshoot digital & analog signal systems including Allen Bradley and similar PLCs, controls, Temperature, Pressure, & other sensors that integrate with our equipment.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, control components, photo-eyes, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, etc.
- Diagnose problems, make adjustments, troubleshoot and provide the required maintenance to equipment in a timely manner to ensure optimal performance
- Work with operations manuals and manufacturer's instructions to optimize equipment performance
- Communicate effectively with various departments and outside vendors regarding issues, resolutions and status updates pertaining to equipment problems
- Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, setup, and install parts on machines to maximize quality and production
Qualifications:
· High School degree or equivalent. Tech school diploma & 5 years of experience in related field or equivalent experience in a related field preferred
· Manufacturing and /or Packaging industry experience preferred
- Electromechanical experience with packaging equipment,
- Understanding sensors, electric motors and how they interact.
- Ability to read & interpret electrical schematics, & occasionally update them
- Possess advance knowledge of PLC’s, SLC’s, etc. like Allen Bradley & Siemens as well as accompanying hardware components
- Ability to troubleshoot & repair issues with drives, sensors, measuring devices, & motors
- Highly motivated, hardworking individual who enjoy working as a team, possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines,
- Must have strong electrical and mechanical intuition & be proficient with hand tools & repair techniques.
- Ability to prioritize & manage workload efficiently with & without assistance & oversight.
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally through both written and verbal medias, Video conferencing and face to face interactions.
- Ability to multi-task
- Experience working on packaging and/or thermoforming equipment a plus
- Bi-lingual English/ Spanish speaking preferred
Pay Range - $28 - $32 / hour based on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
