Azure Security Consultant

Job Description:

• We are seeking a talented individual to join our team and play a pivotal role in securing our M365 and Azure environments.
• They will leverage their deep understanding of cloud security principles and Microsoft technologies to design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions
• The IT System Administrator Principal is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, customer support and maintenance of systems hardware, infrastructure application software and related infrastructure.
• This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
• This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, infrastructure applications and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and partners. This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases of new projects.
• Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise; Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices; Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
• Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
• May lead functional teams or projects; Is recognized as an expert in own area within the organization.
• Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirements.

Responsibilities:

• 3 years of experience in cloud security architecture and design.
• Proven experience working with Microsoft Azure and M365 security services, including Azure Active Directory, Azure Security Center, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and M365 security features.
• Strong understanding of security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, threat modeling, and security compliance.
• Experience implementing security controls and automation using tools like Azure Automation, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex security concepts into clear and concise documentation.

Experience:

• Design and implement secure architectures for M365 and Azure environments.
• Configure and manage Azure security services.
• Implement and maintain M365 security features.
• Conduct security assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities.
• Develop and document security policies and procedures.
• Stay up to date on the latest security threats and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a holistic approach to security.

Skills:

• Hands-on experience with Azure security services like Azure Active Directory.
• In-depth knowledge of M365 security features, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Cloud App Security, and Conditional Access.
• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
• Understanding of security compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA).
• Familiarity with security threat modeling methodologies (e.g., STRIDE).
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
