Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers.
- Drive best practices, coding standards, and ensure high-quality code delivery.
- Collaborate with Engineering Directors, Engineering Managers, Principal Engineers, and other stakeholders to contribute to technical strategies and roadmaps.
Development:
- Lead design, development, maintenance, and implementation of scalable and efficient solutions.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions, contributing to seamless integration and optimal performance.
Architectural Design:
- Lead the architectural decisions and design of systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, maintainability, and security.
- Contribute to the evaluation and recommendation of technologies and frameworks to meet business and product objectives.
Technical Excellence:
- Set and implement coding standards and best practices within the engineering team.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
- Lead optimization and refactoring of code to address performance bottlenecks and improve system efficiency.
- Tackle complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
Innovation and Research:
- Stay updated on industry trends, evaluate new technologies, and advocate for improvements in processes and tools.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with product leads and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver impactful features.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, contributing to their professional development and growth within their craft.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience.
- 12 years as a software engineer, with a focus on a combination of frontend, backend, and data engineering, including experience working with complex external facing/commercial solutions.
- In depth experience in designing and implementing scalable and high-performance systems.
- Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages, frameworks, and technologies, specifically Python, SQL, ReactJS, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript. Experience with Apache Beam, dbt, and BigQuery or similar tools a strong plus.
- Expert knowledge of application architectures, security best practices, and data integration concepts.
- Experience with ETL technologies and data engineering with a focus on building and maintaining data platforms and pipelines.
- Exposure to modern infrastructure such as code technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Airflow.
- Understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and data warehousing principles.
- Understanding of distributed data management systems and related applications.
- Familiarity with public cloud infrastructure design, tools, and strategies.
- Experience with software development methodologies including Agile, Kanban, and Scrum.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Prior experience in a product focused technology team desired.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding engineering teams and influencing technical decisions.
