What You’ll Do:

As a Data Scientist I, you will be part of a team responsible for owning, developing & maintaining our Enterprise Data Science Applications as well as helping to solve all our complex problems involving simulations, modeling and statistics using the latest LLM, GenAI and ML/Statistics libraries and tools available.  You will also work closely with Product Owners or in some cases as a Product Owner for these projects that will require you to engage, train and work with end users to help curate the problem and reach a solution to the problem that helps drive value for the organization.  This role will closely partner with respective Data Engineering & BI Developer teams to help automate, refine and take our applications to the next level and help build the future at USX.

 

  • Collaborate with the data team to collect, clean, and preprocess data for analysis.
  • Assist in developing and implementing machine learning models under supervision.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Support the creation of data visualizations and reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Learn and apply statistical methods to analyze and interpret data.
  • Communicates effectively across the team regarding their individual work
  • Engages in a team environment and completes well-defined tasks to support team goals
  • Ability to multi-task and analyze information to determine appropriate response.
  • Contributes routinely to documentation, Backlog refinement, and user stories
  • Operate and develop in an Agile team Environment (Including backlog refinement & user story creation & ownership)
  • Develop expertise and understanding of core business functions of assigned domain
  • Ability to explain products to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensures opened tickets are resolved within a timely fashion
  • Strong collaborative mindset, good judgment with great interpersonal skills required to help solve complex business problems

What We’re Looking For:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or related discipline from a four-year college or university.
  • Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.

 

Experience

  • Internship to 1 year of experience in a Data Science Role
  • Basic understanding of ML Concepts, Statistics & Generative AI tuning.
  • Ability to work with multiple data sources and types (structured/semi-structured/unstructured)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile and dynamic environment with both virtual and face-to-face interactions.
  • Experience contributing to a Data Dictionary, Canonical Data Model or Code/Product Documentation
  • Supply Chain or Logistics Knowledge (Transportation a plus)

 

 

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Develop robust, scalable models & solutions at an enterprise grade.
  • Solid skills in developing, training and deployment of complex models.
  • Some Experience with SQL
  • Experience with Data Prep & Orchestration tools for EDA & Data Science Modeling (Data Robot, AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML, etc.)
  • Experience with Git and/or bitbucket.
  • Ability to work with multiple data sources and types (structured/semi-structured/unstructured)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile and dynamic environment with both virtual and face-to-face interactions.
  • Supply Chain or Logistics Knowledge (Transportation a plus)
  • Solid in MS Office Products
  • Experience contributing to a Data Dictionary, Canonical Data Model or Code/Product Documentation
