The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Public Health, seeks a Data Analyst for the AEAC. This Data Analyst will directly support the Science Director and other Principal Investigators on the implementation, analysis, and reporting of quantitative data.
Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for data management and analysis for a department or division
Completes extensive programming for data manipulation and generates various statistical analyses
Builds surveys and manages reporting; builds reports in relational databases based on a given data management plan
Technical assistance and coaching; ability to translate data to internal and external partners in a helpful context for program improvement
Oversees and manages the security and integrity of data
May require the development and use of various software packages and systems
Must be able to prioritize multiple project deadlines and communicate timely
Must be able to work with autonomy and meet multiple project deadlines for the AEAC
This position is hybrid
Responsible for data management and analysis for the AEAC
Completes extensive programming for data manipulation and generates various statistical analyses
Manages portfolio of ongoing projects
Executes the implementation, analysis, and reporting of quantitative data
Builds and supports distribution of surveys for AEAC
Utilizes quantitative data tools that are in distribution (provide demographics of respondents, updates on distributions, and monitoring of data reporting submissions.)
Uses/learns software tools such as Excel, REDCap, Qualtrics, Tableau, ArcGIS, and other related items to analyze and visualize project-related data
Technical assistance and coaching
Will serve as a bridge between AEAC team and our internal and external customers
Will help our partners understand the data and will use data for program improvements
Implement training for other AEAC staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Annual Salary: $55,000-$62,500 (commensurate with skills and abilities)
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Math, Psychology, Statistics or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
Master in Public Health or Health Professions
Experience working with public health or health-related programs
Data visualization skills are needed Strong mapping skills are a plus
Experience with relational databases is strongly preferred
Ability to coach and give technical assistance
Ability to recognize data used for program improvements (CQI)
Good with numbers, communication, and people all helpful
Familiarity navigating Box, Teams, Zoom, and Asana Ability to work on multiple projects at any given time
Strong data analysis needed to be successful in this role
