What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time After School Teacher position at UBC Academy?
Candidate will meet the individual needs of children, develop and implement lesson plans ,communicate with parents, interact with the children, and support any and all needs of the children.
Must be caring, compassionate, patient, organized and must have good communication skills.
Responsibilities for After School Teacher:
- Manage the classroom efficiently.
- Making sure all students do their homework and give assistance when needed.
- Provide a classroom environment that encourages parent participation
- Create daily lesson plans that can be engaging, educational and exciting for the school aged children.
- Watch closely for students who are struggling with emotional problems, learning disabilities and help them find the resources they needed
Qualifications:
- 2 years' teaching experience
- Valid CPR certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prepared to pass a criminal background check
- Able to maintain an overall positive and professional disposition
- Effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities
- Demonstrable record of making decisions on behalf of children with their well-being the top priority
