What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleets Operations Associate position at Uber?
About Our Team
Our new US Fleets team is looking to unlock and operationalize Uber’s next wave of mobility growth bets. For nearly a decade, Uber has revolutionized the way drivers turn their personal vehicles into flexible earnings – but thousands of independent vehicle fleets across hundreds of services from taxis to shuttles to medical transit remain untapped.
Our mission is to harness the rider demand the Uber app surfaces and connect it with this untapped fleet supply and potential for new use cases - all as a marketplace for more mobility offerings.
Imagine if Uber were the go-to for connecting transportation businesses big and small - from name-brands to drivers-turned-fleet-owner-entrepreneurs - with the bride-to-be booking her limo, the superintendent booking the field trip bus, or the soup kitchen shuttling over its volunteers…we want to make this vision a reality!
About the Role
We are looking for an execution-focused, product-shaping, and stakeholder-savvy Operations Manager. You’ll oversee, organize, and operationalize first-of-their-kind Fleet integrations and partnerships across the markets, enterprise technologies, and 3rd-party players across the US that you work to define and prioritize.
You’ll work across our company to identify new opportunities, resolve blockers, and implement - all in the spirit of unlocking new Fleet products and operational capabilities. You’ll discern when and how to productize from scratch versus adapt Uber’s current infrastructure, policies, and products to the new world of Fleets. After launches, you’ll monitor our product and marketplace health.
Work will span Product, Policy, Legal, Regulatory, Safety, Customer Support, Business Development, and Data Science. Because the US holds some of Uber’s fiercest and most complex regulatory markets worldwide, it will be critical that you balance this bottoms-up nuance with a tops-down eye for scalability.
You’ll be asked to help shape your role and the team itself as we determine priorities. Navigating ambiguity, learning on the fly, and evangelizing a vision will be paramount as we develop this team and the broader strategy.
What You'll Do
- Keep new integrations, partnerships, and projects on track and resolve issues that crop up
- See around the corner on new product needs versus current feature adaptations, and collaborate with Product accordingly
- Understand the ins and outs of relevant 3rd parties, emergent technology, and local marketplace nuance to customize your approach across products and projects
- Communicate team priorities, next steps, and data-driven insights across our team, the business, and external parties
- Become an expert in the world of Fleets, and apply your expertise as a catalyst for action within the team
- Push for internal and 3rd-party enterprise and B2B tech adaptation to suit the needs of our Fleet platform
- Shape your own role, this team’s design and culture, and our roadmap
