Seeking a part-time Assistant to the Director on an independent feature documentary in post-production on the civil rights icon Rev. James Lawson. Responsibilities include assisting the film’s Director in all aspects of their work with an emphasis on administrative support, but may also include research, media and social media management, monthly newsletters, errands, outreach, marketing, publicity, distribution, and possibly some production. Candidates must have a current driver’s license and car (mileage reimbursement provided). The position is hybrid, including remote and in-person work in Pasadena. Some travel may be required.
10-15 hours/week
Independent Contractor; salary is $25/hour.
Ideal candidates will have an interest in social justice films. They will be proactive,
detail-oriented, and thorough, and be able to pivot quickly and multitask with a strong
emphasis on prioritization. They will be able to communicate effectively and diplomatically with diverse stakeholders.
Skills required:
Strong administrative skills
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Proficiency with Google Suite
-Basic bookkeeping skills (will update expenses on a weekly basis)
-Ability to schedule appointments, coordinate travel arrangements, etc.
-Basic graphic design skills
-Social media skills
-Other tasks as assigned
