Position Summary:
The University of California, Irvine (UCI) Office of Educational & Community Partnerships (ECP) seeks to implement new strategic community engagement initiatives designed to build a pipeline for academic programs across the university. The UCI Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP) within the UCI ECP creates collaborations that support preparation for and success in higher education. Our focus is on equity and access for all students in order to achieve the University of California’s goal of academic excellence. The Research & Evaluation unit of CFEP maintains large databases of student, parent, and teacher records from partner K-12 districts, community colleges, and UC Irvine, and manages survey design, production, data capture, and analysis of thousands of surveys each year. Evaluations are carried out through complete project management or by providing assistance to project leadership with evaluation design and implementation consulting (e.g., evaluation-capacity building), with specific experience in evaluating college access and retention programs funded through the Department of Education and the National Science Foundation.
Under the direction of the UCI Office of Educational & Community Partnerships Director of Research and Evaluation, incumbent uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues which are complex in nature and diverse in scope for program evaluation in multi-site, campus-wide outreach programs both internal to UCI and with external agencies. In consultation with R&E Director and Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP) senior managers and IT Director, serve as functional lead for data collection and reporting for Center-Wide Informational System (CWIS). Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for designs of qualitative and quantitative data gathering and analysis projects for existing programs, analyzes proposed evaluation designs, and recommends new designs and policies. Prepare evaluation reports and briefings Present research and evaluation findings to various stakeholder groups.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $66,700.00 - $79,400.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $66,700.00 - $118,500.00 (Annual Salary).

Required:
  • 3-5 years’ experience planning, coordinating and conducting research and evaluation projects.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative methods, sharing of research and evaluation findings, and report writing.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • California driver's license or the ability to obtain one as required by the Department of Motor Vehicle
  • Knowledge of research-specific computer application programs including Excel, SPSS, R-studios and Tableau Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Analytical / problem-solving skills.
  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Strong policy analysis techniques.
Preferred:
  • Master’s Degree preferred
Special Conditions Required:
  • Must have immediate access to transportation for attendance at off-site meetings with partners.
  • Must pass a background check.
