Position Summary:
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for supporting the IT needs of UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff. Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education and community service goals of the University. UC Irvine’s Office of Information Technology is looking for information technology support analysts who are passionate about analyzing and supporting enterprise systems and services. You will be working with other driven members of OIT teams to develop UC Irvine’s enterprise systems for students, faculty and staff.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, UCPath/Human Resources IT, the UCPath IT Support Analyst applies IT professional concepts, department / unit and campus / medical center / OP policies and procedures to resolve a variety of moderately complex issues in one or more IT areas of specialization. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Provides technical support for login, access, and other technical issues reported by users; provides initial triage of all IT support tickets and assigns to appropriate team members for resolution. Coordinates with other OIT teams and the UCPath Functional Support team as required to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Coordinates changes, code releases and software deployments. Tracks and monitors all central UCPath change requests and defects to identify items with impact on UCI integrations. Provides backup support and monitoring for managed file transfer process for batch integrations. Provides testing support as required. Supports implementation of UCPath initiatives and enhancement projects as assigned. Develops and updates technical documentation as assigned. Develops and tests software application and integration as assigned.

Required:
One (1) – three (3) years with BA/BS OR Zero (0) – One (1) year with MA/MS
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Demonstrated experience working with RDBMS and SQL query to complete data analysis. Skills associated with software design, modification, implementation, and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts. Demonstrated ability to install software and troubleshoot and repair moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals and software. Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance. Basic knowledge of incident response procedures. Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Knowledge of business processes and procedures. Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs. Familiarity with application system development life cycle. Experience with secure software design and development. Demonstrated testing and test planning skills. Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner. General knowledge of several areas of IT. Demonstrated understanding of how system management actions affect users and dependent / related functions. Preferred:
Demonstrated knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies. Demonstrated skills applying security controls to computer software and hardware. Knowledge of data management systems, practices and standards.
Special Conditions Required:
May be required to work outside of normal business hours as needed. Position qualifies for remote work with occasional on-campus requirements. Must pass a background check. Must have valid driver’s license or State ID.
