DESCRIPTION
Under the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager, the incumbent will oversee administrative matters with scheduling, EPIC work queue management, patient referrals and authorizations for the Center for Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. The Practice Supervisor provides supervision and leadership for appointment scheduling, durable medical equipment, registration, and front desk staff.
Responsibilities include all aspects of administrative, supervisory, finance and clerical duties, and patient satisfaction initiatives necessary to promote the goals of UCSD Health System. Incumbent exercises independent decision making based on management and leadership skills to exercise these major functions: personnel management, leadership, communication, finance, system development/improvement.
Supports the Clinic Manager with the oversight of all TJC requirements and CQI projects throughout the department. Observe all regulatory requirements to assure ongoing compliance with UC San Diego Health System. Aids the practice manager as a liaison with the community, industry sponsors, and professional groups to help determine the need, relevance, and effectiveness of Pulmonary and Sleep outpatient practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area/ healthcare Admiration or Business Management plus three (3) years of related experience/training to include at least one (1) year as a Supervisor or Manager at medical facility.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Sleep Medicine or a Pulmonary Specialty.
- Medical Assistant Certification.
- EPIC Cadence experience.
- Previous leadership role that includes managing direct reports, projected management, conducting performance evaluations, and creating/managing reports in Excel.
- Lean Six Sigma experience.

- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act Full Salary Range: $53,600 - $111,600 Annually
The University of California, San Diego is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is defined as the Full Pay Range. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position defined as the Expected Pay Scale. Placement within the Expected Pay Scale is determined by internal equity, relevant qualifications, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
