DESCRIPTION
The Division of Medical Education within the UCSD School of Medicine is comprised of the following major units: Admissions & Student Affairs; Undergraduate Medical Education; Graduate Medical Education; and Continuing Medical Education & Faculty Development. Office of Education Technology, Innovation, and Assessment provides a broad range of technology resources and services to support students, faculty, and staff. The division supports the education, training and co-curricular activities of 500 medical students, 800 residents and fellows, as well as the faculty, physician and healthcare providers at UCSD’s School of Medicine and Medical Centers.
Applies acquired skills, process, and policy knowledge to support professional health education program learners. Coordinates program operations related to the evaluations of medical school courses, faculty and students, which include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation. Plan, implement, and conduct complex analytical evaluations of the pre-clinical courses in the medical school curriculum. Prepare reports summarizing and interpreting analytical studies and research projects related to the evaluations of medical school courses, faculty and students. Assist in the development and management of educational assessment procedures and processes. Manage faculty and course evaluation and assessment datasets. Compile and assess data, create reports, distribute information. Work with management to develop and enforce internal control processes and practices. Manage day-to-day operations. Manage special projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Six years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training.
Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry. Knowledge of testing, assessment, and statistical analysis procedures.
Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.
Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.
Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.
Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.
Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with demonstrated experience using good judgment and discretion when working with a variety of sensitive issues or highly confidential information.
Strong organizational skills with demonstrated experience setting priorities, producing timely results and meeting deadlines in a demanding, multi faceted work environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic knowledge of UCSD administrative, organizational and functional structure, School of Medicine departments and research programs, and medical education training and curriculum.
