DESCRIPTION

The Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science is dedicated to creating and promoting public health innovations to advance equity, justice, and wellbeing for all. The School focuses on health, diversity, inclusion, and social equity in everything we do. In working to fulfill that vision, we are comprised of more than 125 primary appointed faculty and academics, 200 staff members, and 25 secondary appointed faculty and provide mentorship and instruction to 225 postgraduate and 650 undergraduate major students across six degree programs and a clinical residency. We conduct research and instruction in public health disciplines such as Biostatistics, Climate & Environmental Health, Community Health Sciences & Preventive Medicine, Epidemiology, Global Health, Health Behavior, Health Policy, Public Mental Health, and Technology & Precision Health, totaling ~$125M in grants and contracts and housing five research service cores. We engage in research and teaching collaborations across the University and the community at-large. Partnerships with the community and with health agencies are fundamental to the School.

The IPEN Project Analyst position shares overall responsibility for the leadership and management of all aspects of the Coordinating Center for the International Physical Activity and Environment Network (IPEN), as well as other projects related to built environment and physical activity/health research. The incumbent will be responsible for the management and use of databases resulting from IPEN (International Physical Activity and Environment Network) studies that were conducted in 20 countries, in addition to related databases from other similar US-basedresearch projects. The IPEN Project Analyst also provides support to other investigators, students, and visiting schoolars in management of complex data, service on publication committees, preparation of datasets and support of analysis by others, and personal conduct of data analyses.

Applies professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research and procedural issues. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives and makes sound recommendations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus two (2) years of related experience/training.

  • Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.

  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

  • Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.

  • Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

  • Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.

  • Extensive experience with intermediate statistical techniques relevant to Center study topics.

  • Experience effectively contributing to group discussions and decision making with interdisciplinary research groups.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $43,900 - $91,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $21.02 - $44.01

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
