CROCUS is an Urban Integrated Field Laboratory led by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Argonne National Laboratory in partnership with academic and community organizations and civic and industry champions. This project seeks to answer some of the most pressing questions on urban climate change. To provide a better data collection and model training environment at the edge, the student will combine self supervised learning (SSL) and reinforcement learning (RL) to gain fully autonomous Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) camera control. Education and Experience Requirements •Must be currently enrolled full-time at an accredited institution and have completed at least one semester of schooling by the start of the program. •Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins. •Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. •Must be a U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident at the time of application. •If accepting an offer, must pass a screening drug test.
