•A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant working experience.
•Proven superior interpersonal skills to foster and maintain effective relationships with faculty, colleagues, University officials, patients, VIPs, donors, and the public.
•Ability to gather and interpret data to formulate logical conclusions and take appropriate action.
•Mathematical skills to perform basic accounting transactions, develop budgets, reconcile financial statements, monitor expenses, process reimbursements, and assist in the preparation of grant proposals.
•Strong written communication skills to write and edit letters, memos, reports, promotion materials and media releases.
•Ability to work on an independent basis, under pressure of competing deadlines, and with frequent interruptions.
•Skill in prioritizing assignments to accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities, and to complete work in a timely manner despite variations in workload and special assignments.
•Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with ability to multitask.
•Supervisory skills sufficient to train staff, assign tasks, delegate work as necessary, review work, and conduct performance evaluations.
•Ability to use independent judgment to maintain the Chair’s calendar and plan departmental events. Skill in using electronic calendaring systems and e-mail.
