What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Monitor position at UCLA Health?
The mission of the UCLA Center for Behavioral & Addiction Medicine is to advance the prevention and treatment of chronic illnesses, especially in communities with health disparities. Our research efforts include clinical trials of anti-addiction medications and HIV prevention interventions. The Data Monitor will review study documentation for clinical trials and other research projects in order to ensure completeness and accuracy. This will include paper charts and electronic data files. You will also prepare reports that summarize findings and provide recommendations. This position will be required to maintain human subjects training certifications and will participate in study team and Center-wide meetings.
Please note this is a one year, part-time contract position that may convert to career.
Required:
Willingness and ability to maintain confidentiality of subjects interviewed.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally, and in writing, with staff and supervisors.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in data monitoring and quality assurance for clinical trials.
Demonstrated knowledge of Good Clinical Practice.
Organizational skill to maintain records and coordinate other tasks as required.
Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and data collection programs.
Experience in research that focuses on Addiction and/or HIV. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
Bilingual English/Spanish
