Job Duties:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse must be able to work
with a primary nursing model as delivery care systems and follow established
University, Hospital, and Departmental work policies, procedures and
guidelines.
Job Qualifications:
- CA LVN License
- IV certification
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures
- Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed
- Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problems
- Excellent interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers
- Keyboard literacy skills to access and input data in computerized logging systems
- Demonstrated ability to be punctual and maintain good attendance
- Ability to push, pull, or carry a minimum of 30 pounds or more
- More than 6 months
experience as an LVN in the current position or has relevant clinical
experience
- Preferred: Experience with the Medical Procedures Unit.
