Under the direction of the Content Coordinator and the AASC Director, the Content / Curriculum Assistant & Grants Manager will act as the point person for a number of chapter teams' production, review, and editing processes (50%) and oversee the projects associated with three extramurally funded chapter-related projects (50%) of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Multimedia Textbook, a project of the UCLA Asian American Studies Center.

The AAPI Multimedia Textbook is a narrative change project that brings together distinguished scholarship, open access technology, and ethnic studies pedagogy to deepen public knowledge about who we are, strengthen students' historical empathy and bring Asian American and Pacific Islander stories into every classroom. It is a free AAPI Studies resource geared toward students and instructors in 9th-14th grade classrooms.

At 50% time, the Content / Curriculum Assistant will act as the point person for a number of chapter teams' production, review, and editing processes. With the goal of completing chapters, they will provide day-to-day support that includes writing correspondences, scheduling meetings, and consolidating updates from their respective chapter teams, as well as gathering questions to be raised to the Content Coordinator.

At 50% time, the Grants Manager will administer the workflow of research grants at the Asian American Studies Center. Within each project's respective grant period, they will be the primary coordinator responsible for executing the projects written into each of the grant applications, including two to three AAPI Multimedia Textbook chapters, a digital exhibit, and a series of public facing events.

Leadership experience in facilitating meetings and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in academia, from the community, and other Center staff.

Strong interpersonal and public speaking communication skills, both written and spoken in dealing with scholars, students, educators, editors, writers, reviewers and publishing personnel.

Excellent organizational skills.

Bachelor of Arts in Asian American Studies or related field, or equivalent familiarity with the field.

Master of Arts in Asian American Studies or related field, or equivalent familiarity with the field.

Demonstrated ability to summarize, compose, and produce weekly documentation reports.

Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.

Familiarity with professional messaging programs like Slack.
