What are the responsibilities and job description for the CSO Security Guard position at UCLA?
Under the supervision of Community Service Officer managers, ensure a safe and secure university environment. Patrol both the campus as a whole and assigned areas, and contact the appropriate emergency personnel via radio in the event of observed criminal, suspicious, or emergency circumstances.

Detailed knowledge of campus geography in order to expedite calls and to be an effective information source.
Can be trained
Working knowledge of penal and radio codes and language in order to use and understand the police radio.
Can be trained
General knowledge of UCLA Police Department organizational structure.
Can be trained
Ability to recognize importance of dealing with the public in appropriate ways and the importance of good public appearance.
Required
Skill in interacting diplomatically with the public in a high volume, continuous public contact setting.

Working knowledge and understanding of all Community Service Officer Programs Operational Policies and Procedures.
Can be trained
Ability to assess a problematic or emergency situation and plan/execute an appropriate solution in a quick manner.
