What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retention Coordinator position at UCLA?
The Academic Achievement Counselor 2 directly supports the Vice Provost Initiative for Pre-College (VIP) Scholars program under the immediate supervision of the Academic Advancement Program (AAP) Director of Pre-College and Summer Programs. In this capacity the Academic Achievement Counselor 2, this position will serve as the VIPS Retention Coordinator with major duties including (1) creating programming to support VIPS cohort students who have graduated from high school and now attend UCLA and other universities; as well as establish and maintain partnerships with administrators from other universities to support scholars' retention (2) maintaining a database to track and communicate with VIPS students (3) work with program leadership on student enrollment and retention data; (4) coordinate programs events, course, workshops, and meeting logistics; and (5) other administrative duties including purchases, payments, and reimbursements using appropriate online systems, and monitoring program expenditures and purchases. The incumbent will also perform administrative functions to support the development and strengthening of VIP Scholars overall mission and programming.
