Qualifications
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (Required)
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to interact with staff of schools, school district and community organizations as well as youth and parents. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability, experience and sensitivity in working with the at-risk youth population from very diverse backgrounds in Los Angeles. Specialized knowledge of child development and particularly the problems of at-risk youth. (Required)
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the multi-cultural background of the LA community. (Required)
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the LA community. Willingness to work non-traditional hours. A typical work schedule may include evening or weekend hours. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability in working autonomously in a highly self-directed manner, ability to work as part of a team, ability to manage time effectively and skill in organizing workflow to accomplish established goals. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to produce flexible solutions to complex situations, and to problem-solve creatively. (Preferred)
- Writing, speaking and listening skills to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. (Required)
- Ability to work professionally in varied and complex situations, as well as highly tense interpersonal situations in the community. (Required)
- Employment with the UCLA Community Based Learning program for a minimum of one year. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of policies and procedures that are required under Federal, State and City EO, Disability and LEP regulations. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of Section 504 Rehabilitation Act regulations. (Preferred)
- Bilingual-Spanish. (Preferred)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in a related field or equivalent experience/training. (Required)
Special Conditions for Employment
- Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
- Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
- TB Test: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory TB test.
- CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
