RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to and receives operational and functional guidance from the ORNL Nuclear Operations Enterprise Manager or their designee.
Job Related Responsibilities
Under limited supervision:
Grade 21:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience: Entry level
Grade 22
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience: 2 years directly related experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience: 5 years directly related experience
The Work Control Planner plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Job Related Responsibilities
Under limited supervision:
- Provides day-to-day support to projects to ensure; 1) compliance with policies, requirements, and procedures and; 2) objectives are met or exceeded
- Assists the work supervisor in defining the work scope and requirements for work planning packages.
- Assists the facility manager in evaluating if a work scope requires a work planning package.
- Coordinates the work planning process with the work supervisor, the facility manager and the work planning team
- Interfaces with various subject matter experts to ensure safety, quality and technical requirements are evaluated in the work planning process and incorporated into the work package.
- Reviews lessons learned and incorporates relevant information into the work package.
- Develops draft work documents and job specific hazard analyses.
- Coordinates and facilitates work planning team walkdown and tabletop reviews of the work package and job specific hazard analysis
- Performs revisions to work packages and job specific hazard analysis as required.
- Reviews work planning feedback from post-job reviews and other sources.
- Participates in conducting assessments, as requested.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping—maintain records in accordance with applicable Records Inventory and Disposition Schedules (RIDS)
- Assist in requested design reviews, procedure development, procedure reviews, proposal reviews, and cost/benefit analysis.
- Familiar with established policies, methods, and practices of the Company
- Maintains knowledge of safety policies and procedures and performs assigned duties in a safe manner, and, if supervising others, has responsibility for the safety of those being supervised; and ensures they comply with established safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits
- Completes work assignments with a high level of personal accountability, teamwork, initiative, and quality.
- Familiar with established policies, methods, and practices of the Company
- Performs other tasks, as assigned.

Experience: 5 years directly related experience
- Experience with type I work planning strongly desired
- Familiarity with procedure writing required
- Familiarity with established policies, methods, and practices of the Company strongly desired.

- Supports miscellaneous and work control planning activities as required by manager.
- Completes work assignments with a high level of quality and personal accountability, displaying strong skills in communication and building relationships.
