About this role
In 2021, Udemy launched a new business unit - now called the Leadership Academy - to support our customers in building the leadership behaviors required to meet their organizational goals. To accelerate that launch, we purchased a cohort learning company with a deep set of customer relationships, a strong online cohort learning platform and a catalog of nearly 80 courses. Now we're looking for a Director of Product Management for the Udemy Leadership Academy who will be responsible for designing, developing and launching new products. You'll help us develop course content plus manage the current (and future) version of the platform. You'll oversee research on buyer needs, customer leadership challenges and learner preferences for the Leadership Academy which will be the foundational starting point for decision-making. We'll measure performance by the timeliness, sales, adoption, and customer impact of the new product. Ultimately, Udemy seeks to achieve $100M in sales in the leadership business by 2028.
What you'll be doing:
- Developing a future state vision for the cohort learning platform, that includes integration of Leadership Academy to the broader Udemy platform
- Conducting cost-benefit analysis of product choices for the Leadership Academy platform
- Designing learning programs (2-4 in the first year) to take to market that are grounded in research on the leadership behaviors required to meet a particular organizational goal (e.g. digital transformation, employee engagement, employee performance)
- Establishing and updating pricing for all products and services
- Collaborating across the Udemy Content, Product, Design, and Engineering teams to execute on the development of a new cohort learning platform
- Collaborating with the Leadership Academy commercial team and cohort operations team on product development and launch
What you'll have:
The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and launching B2B learning products. We'd also like to see someone with experience:
- Using customer insights to make decisions about product positioning and features
- Building strong narratives to describe a particular point of view on critical customer leadership challenges
- Thinking creatively about new ways to deliver organizational and learner outcomes through high impact learning experiences
- Engaging, managing, and leading a team of learning designers, product managers, product designers, and engineers
- Delivering against frequent milestones for product development and launch
- Bringing focus to a business facing a broad range of business opportunities
We understand that not everyone will match each of the above qualifications. However, we also realize that everyone has unique experiences that can add value to our company. Even if you think your background might not perfectly align, we'd love to hear from you!
