About this role:We're looking for a Director of Thought Leadership. This person will be responsible for working with the comms and media team to define and execute a thought leadership strategy with the goal of increasing Udemy's share of voice and raising awareness within the learning and skills development space. The individual will work with senior leaders across Udemy to create and refine a point of view which they will then work with industry influencers and analysts to validate and launch into the market via targeted media efforts.
What you'll be doing:- Define, refine and craft a thought leadership point of view and effectively communicate this to internal and external stakeholders
- Align key stakeholders around the thought leadership strategy
- Create appropriate communication materials (bylines, speeches, presentations, etc.) to support executive outreach with media
- Partner across marketing functions to ensure thought leadership is part of marketing campaigns
- Lead the day-to-day supervision of media planning, including press briefings, media events, pitch materials, press releases, oversight of buy recommendations, execution details, budgets/accounting, associated with a thought leadership program
- Monitor and measure impact of the thought leadership program, providing benchmark and goals
- Manage staff thought leadership efforts in the creation of high-quality, timely and high-impact outputs
- 5 years experience in Media, PR, and thought leadership
- 8 years of relevant experience in Marketing, Communications, Content or related field
- Background in writing or journalism - strong communication and writing skills
- Be able to manage disparate internal stakeholders
- Be a vocal advocate and positive influence towards team working and staff integration
- Ability to summarize key issues and opportunities, including assessing data and creating a narrative for external distribution
- Ability to construct a narrative and communicate that in verbal and written format (in prose and presentation styles)
- Ability to critically think about core issues by researching and synthesizing informations from a range of sources and stakeholders, and brainstorming with the team to improve the rigor of our strategy and thinking
- Proven track record working with senior executives; demonstrated capacity to convene, manage and lead large groups- ensuring all voices are heard but with an ability to drive to consensus and action
