Job Duties
A professional multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice including administrative and clinical procedures under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician.
Degree in medicine or other fields, with plans for career in dental, medicine, advanced medical practice, pharmacy, chiropractor, physical and occupational therapy, or other allied fields.
Essential Functions
Must be able to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, or unusual situations. Must be capable of dealing with periodic cyclical workload pressures and levels of responsibility. Required to make independent judgments without supervision. Must be able to make generalizations, evaluations, or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria. Must have the adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Requires the ability to work with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
1 year Clerical/Customer Service experience, ideally in a healthcare related
industry, experience with third party payors and computer experience
for inputting data and reviewing patient demographic material. preferred
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
Bachelors Healthcare preferred

Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire

Essential Functions
- Take patient’s vital signs. Prepare patients for the provider’s care. Assist with patient examinations or treatments.
- Perform venipunctures and administer routine, non-controlled medications.
- Correctly document all entries in the medical record, either electronic or hard copy, to include signature, date and time.
- Administer medication as directed by and under the direct supervision of licensed physician.
- Observe and report patients’ signs or symptoms. Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the provider.
- Administer basic first aid.
- Participates in performance improvement projects.
- Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.
- Provides a standard of excellence as it relates to customer service for patients, staff members, and other customers
- May Perform scribe functions by documenting all provider/patient interactions in the medical record under the supervision and responsibility of a licensed clinician
- Assist with test scoring
- Performing all other duties as assigned within a specific department

- Ability to communicate effectively and courteously, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to organize and prioritize assignments to work independently as well as a collaborative team member.
- Knowledge of ambulatory health care or related health care field.
- Ability to provide dynamic customer service using various techniques including positive language, calming presence, attentiveness, clear communication, and patience.
- Attention to detail and quality of work.
- Basic clinical competencies.
- Basic computer literacy and arithmetic skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all members of health care team and other clinical services
