Assistant Director of Behavioral Health, UHS Binghamton General Hospital United Health Services is seeking a Assistant Director of Behavioral Health to join our Psychiatric department at UHS Binghamton General Hospital in Binghamton, NY. This position is benefits eligible. Shift: Day Hours per week: 40 Salary range: $37.45 - $59.38 per hour, depending on experience. Assistant Director of Behavioral Health / Overview This position will be responsible for the supporting and overseeing components of the behavioral health service line. Working in conjunction with the Administrative Director to ensure the highest quality of care and integration between the levels of care provided. Key Responsibilities and Expectations Education/Experience Minimum Required: Master’s degree in social work, 5 years management and / or administrative experience in the Behavioral Health field. In-Depth knowledge of healthcare operations in behavioral health, Strong organizational and analytical skills, must possess a comprehensive understanding of mental health. License/Certification Minimum Required: NYS LCSW or eligible Preferred: NYS LCSW-R Essential Functions: Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that are performed with or without reasonable accommodation. Oversees daily operations of behavioral health services for clinical quality, regulatory compliance and ethical practice; Develops and tracks quality improvement indicators for behavioral health services; Oversees the overall management and operations of HIS and Peer Services including consultation regarding clinical issues; Oversees regulatory compliance and implementation of clinical supervision for Behavioral Health; Fosters collaboration across levels of care and works to achieve full integration of services across the continuum and acts as a clinical mental health liaison to medical services; Maintains positive and professional team work environment; Develops and maintains data resources to evaluate program performance and ensure that behavioral health services are coordinated among sites and providers, as applicable; Completes required state and federal reports, as required; Serves as a liaison with community mental health and primary care providers to ensure continuity of care; Responds to patient and family complaints; Leads root cause analyses, as needed; Conducts NYS Justice Center investigations, as needed; Completes other duties as assigned. Overall Rating of Position Functions: Non-Essential Functions: Duties the employee may perform that are not essential as defined in the job description. Special projects as assigned by administrative director, behavioral health Serves as community presenter, liaison and UHSH representative at meetings and events as needed Work Environment Works across any sites within the community that provide behavioral health services. Most time is spent between Binghamton General Hospital and Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. Travel throughout the region will be expected, as needed to accomplish position responsibilities. No personal protective equipment is required. Age of Patients Served Adolescent: 13 to 17 Years Early Adulthood: 18 to 45 Years Middle Adult: 46 to 59 Years Late Adult: 60 to 79 Years Elderly: 80 Years HIPAA Roles-Based Access to Patient Information All – Access to patient information, including restricted information – Level 4. Staff Supervised (6) licensed social workers from inpatient psychiatry, three care managers from inpatient psychiatry and one program manager from outpatient mental health. Total 10 direct reports.
