POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will work with health system leadership and departmental directors to develop and implement plans to grow ambulatory volumes, eliminate leakage of ambulatory referrals, and improve overall margins of each ambulatory business unit. This position will oversee the development of the Ambulatory Network Plan (ANP) for the market, as well as those portions of the Long Range Plan (LRP) related to ambulatory growth, to include, but not limited to, business opportunity assessment with the CEO/CFO/DBD; meetings with prospective partners and coordination of the early stage due diligence and LOI development with Corporate Development team; site identification; coordination with UHS Design and Construction/Corporate Real Estate/Corporate Development teams to guide Proforma and Business Plan Development; and preparing the Business Plan and Proforma with assistance/guidance from the CEO/CFO/RCFO. For all approved de novo projects, this position will lead the project from conception to inception through activities to include, but not limited to, coordination of UHS Real Estate for leasing; UHS Design and Construction for general contractor selection; construction oversight in coordination with UHS Design and Construction; equipment planning/order in coordination with the UHS Supply Chain team; payor contracting in coordination with the UHS Managed Care team; regulatory/licensure/accreditation notifications/surveys/filings/reporting; and pre-opening events to be led by the local market PR/Marketing/PRM team members. For approved projects that are acquisitions, this position will lead the project from conception to inception through activities to include, but not limited to, due diligence assistance; FF&E inventory and FMV analyses/opinions; assisting UHS Legal with questions/follow-up related to development of definitive documents; coordination of UHS Real Estate for leasing/lease assumption; collaborating with UHS Design and Construction for general contractor selection (as applicable); construction oversight (as applicable) in coordination with UHS Design and Construction; equipment planning/ordering in coordination with the UHS Supply Chain team; payor contracting in coordination with the UHS Managed Care team; regulatory/licensure/accreditation notifications/surveys/filings/reporting; and pre-opening events to be led by the local market PR/Marketing/PRM team members. At opening, each de novo entity and JV or acquisition entity will be turned over to the in-market operator to oversee operations while this role will continue to track metrics of actual performance compared to the Proforma with timely notification to the CEO and RVP when asset performance lags projections. With time, training, demonstrated aptitude and successful performance in the core “growth” role, this position could be a candidate to assume operational oversight for some or all of the ambulatory assets in the market.
