Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. Originally a cattle ranch, the land was purchased in 1943 as part of The Brown Schools and has operated as a medical rehabilitation and behavioral healthcare facility for over 60 years.
Today, Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain and spinal cord injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neuropsychiatric treatment for youth. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.

Qualifications
The following are the job requirements for the Biller/Collector position.
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: This position is responsible for the electronic or hardcopy billing of claims for Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers as well as follow up of assigned accounts to resolve outstanding balances. Requires comprehension of contracts to calculate expected insurance payments, patient cost share and contractuals based on insurance benefits and contracted rates. Knowledge of revenue codes, CPT codes and modifiers. Use of PC, calculator, printer, fax machine, multi-line phone system and various Microsoft Office products with an emphasis in Excel. Ability to make decisions and handle multiple responsibilities and strict deadlines. Work with Utilization Review team to determine authorizations received on all managed accounts and communicates denials to overturn decisions timely. Advises, informs, and assists the patient/guarantor/family in regard to hospital financial policies. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality. Performs other duties as needed. This individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to problem solve. Diplomacy and discretion are essential, as well as excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects. Professional demeanor and appearance required.Must be able to demonstrate average to high math skills. Knowledge of third party payment procedures, managed care and government programs strongly recommended.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver’s License or State issued Id.
EXPERIENCE: Two years prior billing/electronic billing and/or collections in a hospital setting preferred.
PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Vision, hearing, verbal communication ability (by phone and face to face), emotional stability, and dexterity sufficient to perform essential job functions and handle stress and changing priorities. Requires repeated use of hands and fine motor skills to use 10-key and computer. Ability to see and write legibly. Ability to lift/lower up to 30 pounds and grasp and move items (including changing paper on computer printer). Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to stand for extended periods of time (to file and research inquiries). Regular and predictable attendance.
