Responsibilities

The Clinical Hospital Educator functions independently to assess, identify, and meet the educational needs of Hospital staff in accordance with Manatee Memorial Hospital policies, procedures, standards and philosophy and provide professional leadership and support to health team members. Provides opportunity for staff fulfillment of regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. Responsible for designing, implementing, evaluating, and revising education programs for the hospital. Evaluates and validates effectiveness of educational programs. Utilizes adult learning principles and multiple teaching approaches to meet the diversity of staff learning styles. Participates in and contributes to interdisciplinary performance improvement activities. Integrates evidence-based practice and healthcare theory into education interventions. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned. Ability to integrate theory and advanced clinical skills into practice. Ability to implement adult learning principles in educational interactions. Modeling professional and clinical practice behaviors that reflect the values, mission, and standards of Manatee Memorial Hospital. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to take a creative approach. Flexibility. Possesses excellent critical thinking skills. Ability to work effectively with leadership, patients, families, staff and physicians. Ability to plan and organize and has excellent time management skills. Ability to work independently and in teams. Strict attention to detail and ability to prioritize on a daily basis.

Qualifications

 

Required: High school education or equivalent

Required: Specialty certification in area of expertise

Required: Current BLS

5 years’ experience in hospital based Clinical Care

Required: Graduation from Accredited School of Nursing and current RN licensure in Florida

Preferred: Master’s Degree or matriculation in an accredited master’s Program to be completed within 5 years of hire.

Required: Proficient typing and word processing skills. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office tools, Learning Management Systems, and Electronic Medical Record platforms

Preferred: 2 or more years’ experience in Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree
