What are the responsibilities and job description for the Courier Messenger position at UHS?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Operates a company motor vehicle to conduct courier tasks on a regularly scheduled basis. Maintains vehicle appearance and servicing. May make small adjustments or repairs. May be on-call or make extended trips requiring irregular hours. Conveys mail, documents, parcels, parts, human blood and other body fluids, medical laboratory specimens, furniture, supplies and equipment to designated locations. Reviews bills or receipts to verify accuracy of items picked up and delivered. Documents travel and vehicle maintenance information in logs. Frequently unloads and loads cargo. Also performs related duties as required in large warehouse facilities. Frequent light to moderate lifting, and routinely requires some heavy lifting.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A valid Texas Driver’s License; safe driving skills; the ability to safely operate company vehicles with manual or automatic transmissions.
2. Typical incumbent has 1-2 years relevant experience and thorough knowledge of local area.
3. Typical incumbent has basic knowledge of Universal Precautions and Aseptic Technique.
4. Ability to work independently (self-starter), quickly, accurately and efficiently under tight deadlines, heavy workloads and in the presence of customers while producing desired results.
5. Math and analytical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide to count inventory, perform measurements, and calculate total work order times.
6. Excellent customer service skills
7. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
o High School Diploma/GED. Basic computer skills preferred.
