Job Summary: The Director of IT Applications, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), plays a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and directing the functions of the application development department and the operations system support team at Prominence Health. This position works closely with operations teams composed of users of the applications supported and Prominence / Corporate UHS IS/IT staff to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of existing systems, emphasizing proper configuration, functioning, optimization, security, and data integrity of Prominence Health core operational systems. The Director is also responsible for anticipating and planning for future information services infrastructure and capability needs, resolving complex organizational and technological problems, overseeing department operations, managing information system vendor contracts, and proposing annual departmental budgets.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field or Bachelor’s Degree combined with relevant experience required.
- Master’s Degree in information systems or in business administration with focus on information technology is preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in data processing, systems analysis, and computer operations and programming, project management and supervision.
- 5 years of managerial experience in application development or related IT fields.
- Has administrative skills, analytical ability, and initiative. Ability to deal effectively and harmoniously with all groups and individuals. Effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate articulately, comprehend written and verbal communications.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to convert business requirements into technical requirements so that complex solutions can be designed and delivered to meet expected outcomes.
- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and to function effectively under stressful situations.
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA regulations and other state and federal privacy and confidentiality of information requirements and applicable changes.
- Successful track record of managing and motivating a remote IT workforce in a fast-paced growing Healthcare Company to meet aggressive project timelines
- Experience designing and supporting complex integrations, data warehouse architectures and SQL Server (SSIS, SSRS).
- Knowledge and understanding of how a Health Plan operates in supporting Commercial, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and Self-Funded lines of business.
- Understanding and experience working with QNXT and supporting x12 (EDI) transactions is desired.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and delegate work to team efficiently.

- Must have thorough knowledge of various aspects of computer systems, operations, programming languages, system analysis, design and equipment.
- Prefer experience with QNXT claims processing system.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Strong knowledge of application development processes, methodologies, and information services infrastructure.
- Experience in vendor management and contract oversight.
- Solid understanding of budgeting and financial management.
- Ability to navigate complex organizational and technological challenges.
