Job Description
Michael’s House is an adult dual diagnosis treatment center that has detox, residential, php, and outpatient levels of care. We are looking for Per Diem Group Facilitator pwho are both personable and professional individuals with experience working with addiction and/or mental health patients.
This is a per diem position hours range from 2-16 hours per week.
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Ability to Facilitate Psycho-education groups with a focus on ad diction, relapse prevention, and co-occurring disorders by the use of motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, ACT, interpersonal process, as well as experiential therapies.
• Maintains group cohesion, set boundaries, apply appropriate crisis/de-escalation skills as necessary.
• Document group notes accurately and in a timely manner that reflects the patient’s participation and progress.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Possess strong group facilitation skills, is patient, calm, compassionate, and professional.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and the ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to communicate all pertinent clinical information and maintain accurate and timely documentation of group therapy notes that reflects the Pt. participation and progress.
• Possesses skills to demonstrate poise, professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
• Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients.
• Observes and maintains all confidentiality regulations.

• Represents Michael’s House/FRN/UHS in a manner, which conveys a professional, courteous, caring, and cooperative attitude.
• Is knowledgeable of Patient Rights and treats all patients/residents with dignity and respect in a consistent, caring manner.

• Utilizes an open, non-judgmental, non-discriminatory, professional and therapeutic approach to treatment with all patients and residents.

• Complies with facility, departmental, safety and human resources policies.
• Promotes a safe work environment for self, patients and coworkers by complying with environment of care, safety, and infection control and universal precaution guidelines.
• Maintains a neat, professional appearance consistent with the dress code.
• Maintains scheduling requirements, attendance and punctuality in accordance with policy.
• Understands the need for appropriate patient/staff boundaries and maintains a strict therapeutic relationship during active treatment.
• Demonstrates ability to professionally interact with coworkers and other department staff concerning issues related to patient care and offers constructive alternatives.
• Serves as role model for other staff through maintaining a professional approach and providing a positive work environment and team spirit.
• Understands the need to remain flexible with the changing needs of the client
• Meets with management and community partners as needed
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field required. Master’s in a related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in an addiction/mental health/healthcare field preferred.
• Licensed or certified as a chemical dependency counselor or registered to become licensed or certified within 6 months of start date.
