What are the responsibilities and job description for the INSURANCE VER REP (PRN) position at UHS?
JOB SUMMARY:
Verifies insurance coverage for In-patients, pre-admissions, and all elective cases including surgeries, cath lab, and imaging procedues.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1) Verifies insurance coverage on patients.
2) Notifies insurance companies of patient's admission and verifies that pre-certification has been obtained on elective procedures such as surgeries and diagnostic procedures.
3) Estimates patient's portion and notifies them of deposit requirements.
4) Documents information on SMS system.
5) Upgrades patient's information when changes in insurance coverage occur.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of billing and collections and experience with insurances in healthcare preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
