What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Coordinator- Per Diem position at UHS?
The Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PIW is a 130 bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitors change of shift reports to ensure smooth communication between shifts.
- Notifies the Director of the Clinical Assessment Center immediately regarding sensitive inquiry calls.
- Collaborates with the Director of the Clinical Assessment Center to ensure Clinical Assessment Center goals and objectives are consistent with overall hospital goals and objectives.
- Coordinates systems to ensure inquiry calls are answered in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Is actively involved in and aware of all inquiries, patient admissions, patient discharges, patient transfers, and call disposition.
- Develops and assists in supervising a system that ensures documentation is complete and legible
- Strong Attention to detail
- Draft memos, letters and correspondence for review by the Director.
- Compile reports and team meeting notes as needed.
- Coordinates monthly staff meetings and posts minutes for all staff not in attendance.
- Resolves or refers all patient, family, and referral source complaints promptly with a summary report to the Director of the Clinical Assessment Center and Director of Quality Management.
- Facilitates adequate Clinical Assessment Center orientation for new employees, attending physicians, and allied health professionals.
- Participates in Hospital Committees as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Two years of paid clinical experience in mental health services.
- One year of inpatient psychiatric experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a health related field or a licensed nurse (RN) or certified addiction counselor (CAC).
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
