What are the responsibilities and job description for the NURSE MANAGER (PSYCH) position at UHS?
Roxbury is currently hiring a full-time Nurse Manager for our Psychiatric units.
The Nurse Manager: supervises all aspects of the Acute Psychiatric Nursing Department by overseeing the treatment services provided by the nursing department for our inpatient psychiatric programs.
This position qualifies for a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus!
Job Duties and Responsbilities:
- Providing administrative management, training and supervision/evaluation of all nursing staff, house supervisors, and unit clerks
- Prioritization and delegation of duties
- Working with the Staff Scheduler on unit staffing
- Performing direct patient care services in the Nursing capacity
Must possess knowledge of dual diagnosis/chemical dependency/mental health patients; age-specific patient issues, limit setting and behavior management, crisis prevention and intervention techniques; knowledge and comprehension of regulatory agency standards (DOH, DPW, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.); staff development procedures and requirements; ability to communicate orally, telephonically, and in writing; working knowledge of computer systems and various software. Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player. Good documentation, organization and time management skills are necessary. Must be effective in decision-making and problem solving.

Qualifications
Nurse Manager Job Requirements:
- Licensure and registration by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners as a registered nurse required.
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required.
- Degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing or its equivalent OR qualified by education and experience in the care of the mentally ill preferred.
- 3 years experience with a co-occurring population preferred.
