The 33,000-square-foot unit features 25 private patient rooms, six labor/delivery/recovery suites and two surgical suites. The Rehabilitation Institute, the hospital features 184 licensed acute care beds as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery, an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, cardiac services featuring a STEMI Receiving Center (heart attack) and a 35-bed 24-hour emergency department. Essential Job Duties:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for independently utilizing the nursing process to safely, therapeutically, and efficiently care for a group of patients based on policies and procedures of the facility and unit. They shall meet all the essential duties and responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN).
The NICU RN additional duties and responsibilities include assessment of individual developmental needs of neonates and recognizes both normal and abnormal patterns of development. Provides quality care with accurate assessment, interventions, and documentation for the low to high-risk neonate. Provides newborn care to the infant at delivery. Delivers individualized quality patient care through a coordinated team approach with patient’s family, physicians, staff, and other departments with effective interpersonal communication skills.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years recent acute RN experience required.
- 2 years experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Preferred
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Graduated of Accredited RN School of Nursing required.
- BSN/MSN Preferred
- Written and verbal communications, interpersonal skills.
- Basic organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Patient assessment.
- Principles of patient/family teaching.
- Expected to cross train to at least 1 other Perinatal area
Required upon hire:
- Registered Nurse with current California RN license.
- Current BLS AHA certification.
- Current NRP certification (experienced nurse)
Required within 90 days of hire:
- STABLE Program certification
- NRP certification (new to specialty)
