The Corporate Information Services Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Sr. Project Manager – Crossings.

 

The Sr. Project Manager - Crossings manages the implementation of Crossings applications Manages projects for the various information systems.  Manages all aspects of projects assigned from preparing project schedules through final implementation.  Oversees modifications to existing applications that will effectively accomplish desired objectives.  Provides technical support and project direction to Crossings clients as needed.  Coordinates work assignments given in order to meet deadlines and ensures continued progress toward assignment completion. Shares experience and expertise with other members of team. 

 

Key Responsibilities include:

Project Management:

  • Regularly meets with Crossings clients, vendors, and IS staff to develop/modify system specifications.
  • Design solutions for applications and prepare the appropriate documentation.
  • Serves as liaison between clinicians, and clients, as appropriate.
  • Serves as project manager or backup for assigned projects: runs meetings, manages agendas/minutes, tracks tasks, issues, and action items, escalates risks and issues as necessary, and drives projects to completion.
  • Serves as a mentor to other project analysts to assist in moving the project management culture forward. 
  • Assists with strategic planning and management for the Crossings portfolio of clients.
  • Adheres to appropriate Crossings Project Management standards.
  • Provides documentation of project progress using Crossings selected project management toolsets or creation of project toolsets as needed.
  • Ensures strict adherence to work plans, reporting all serious deviations to management.
  • Provides on call after hours support as needed.
  • Gathers data required for assigned projects.
  • Assists with event planning and management for large project events.
  • Travels to facilities as needed in support of project management responsibilities – some night and/or weekend coverage may be requested.

 

Administration Oversight:

  • Manage Crossings clients code versions. 
  • Develop project plans to keep clients current on supported versions of Crossings software.
  • Supervise development of test data, system testing and documentation for all phases of the application development life cycle. 
  • Perform Q/A on application functionality.
  • Adhere to Crossings Service Level and Change Management Policies. 
  • Researches and resolves implementation-related Customer Support Center Tickets including major application upgrades.
  • Provide on-call support as scheduled. 
  • Provides project management support and guidance to other team members as required.
  • Establish and maintains regular communications with user community.
  • Oversee the training of users in operating procedures for application.
  • Prepares and promptly submits all routine and special reports.
  • Contributes to performance evaluation of junior staff members.
  • Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, problems.
  • Performs other tasks as required by management.
  • Maintains Service Excellence principles.

 

Project Management Application Support/Maintenance:

  • Participates in administration of project management application.
  • Provides end user support for project management methodology and application.
  • Participates in end user education of project management methodology and application.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

 

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Extensive experience with project management in Information Systems including eight or more years of progressively more responsible Information Systems or Healthcare Project Management experience. 
  • Previous experience in a consulting role and or supporting revenue generating clients preferred.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of computer systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including: consulting with Crossings clients to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications; design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, coding, debugging, or modification of computer systems or programs based on and related to user design specifications. 
  • Understanding of hospital workflow and operational processes within a department or interdepartmentally preferred. 
  • Advanced working knowledge of system application implementation, enhancement and support methods. 
  • Advanced working knowledge of project management tools and methods.

 

Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.  
  • Comfortable and confident interacting with hospital and corporate personnel at all levels. 
  • Working knowledge of IS standards and quality methods and metrics. 
  • Strong customer focus and ability to set and manage client expectations.
  • Advanced computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications required. 
  • Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills. 

 

License or Registration Requirements: Licensure not required.  PMP certification preferred.

 

Travel Requirements: up to 10% domestic US travel.
