The hospital is accessible 24 hours a day for admissions, and includes mental health assessments and an excellent referral network. Treatment programs and specialty services at VBPC include substance abuse, dual diagnosis and partial hospitalization.��Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center currently has�a Full-Time�Register Nurse (RN) Supervisor Night�position available.� Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays.The candidate selected will be responsible for the following: Maintains hospital and program policies and procedures by direct supervision of nursing staff. Acts as patient advocate in decision-making process. Coordinates admissions and provides assessment, RN coverage and other direct patient care when appropriate. Maintains appropriate staffing to meet the needs of the patients/ program within set guidelines. Supervises assigned staff and other health professionals in relation to their clinical responsibility on the program. Assures that staff is properly oriented according to the program and hospital standards by evaluating educational needs, coordinates staff development and in-service programs. Provides training, redirection and evaluates staff performances as assigned.� Meets with the nursing administrator weekly and nurse managers as needed to assure continuity of communication. Demonstrates professional ethics in the performance of duties, and serves as a role model by supporting and implementing the basic philosophy and standards of the nursing profession. Attends meetings as required. Attends all required in-services.
Qualifications
The following are the job requirements for the�Full-Time�RN Supervisor (Nights) position: � Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing; current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Nurses. Ability to clearly speak, write and understand verbal and written English. Extensive supervisory experience, preferably in a psychiatric facility. Ability to direct the work of others and work in a team environment. Availability for Full-time Nights.� 11:00 pm - 7:00 am. � Provide service to all populations while demonstrating the Service Excellence Standards?
