What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Team Lead position at UHUC?
In addition to performing daily operational procedures and clinical service representative responsibilities, the Team Lead serves as a resource for all center radiology staff by supporting and participating as an active member of the clinical leadership team. Mentors, orients, and trains new staff members. Manages inventory to assure adequate supply levels; monitors and assures staff compliance with WellStreet policies and regulatory requirements.
Role and Responsibilities
• Has expertise in clinical service representative functions within the scope of the Radiologic
Technologist role, including patient triage (taking of vital signs and accurate/detailed
medical history), specimen collection, point-of-care testing, EKG, dressing changes,
occupational medicine services, performing radiology procedures, and documentation of
care in an electronic health record.
• Has expertise in essential Radiology functions including: PACS, radiographic technique,
radiology equipment, auditing, and DHEC radiology regulations.
• Communicates effectively with employers, patients, providers, and other colleagues.
• Facilitates radiology training and orientation of new hires including: completing x-ray
training forms and documentation, site specific equipment training and documentation,
setting up PACS worklists, and radiology updates.
• Implements new systems, workflows, and equipment as directed by the leadership team.
• Assists in managing PACS and Epic by tracking and following up on pending items, managing
mis-admin forms, and communicating with regional Radiologists.
• Evaluates x-ray images for accurate positioning and technique by performing monthly
audits and providing feedback and training to ensure compliance with imaging standards.
• Assists Radiology manager in setting up x-ray in new centers by DHEC initiation and ensuring
x-ray room readiness in accordance with state and company compliance standards.
• Orders dosimetry badges and maintains dosimetry reports for all team members in
accordance with state and company protocols.
• Creates and maintains a consistent region-wide radiology workflow, maintains x-ray exam
logs and daily reports at each center, and establishes a regional repeat analysis program.
• Communicates concerns and feedback in a in a supportive manner consistent with
WellStreet’s mission and values.
• Works collaboratively with regional leaders, providers, and staff to build relationships
that foster a strong team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduate of accredited school
• Current certification in applied field
• Minimum of 2 years medical office experience
• Experience with electronic health records
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Occasionally required to sit, walk, reach with hands and arms.
• Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.
• Occasionally required to lift moderate weights (20-40 pounds)
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or
focus.
