Overview
Facilities Management Specialist (LC-2022-17767-F):
Bowhead is seeking a Facilities Management Specialist to support Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division Detachment Norfolk (NSWCCDDN) located at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story.
Responsibilities
- The selected candidate shall provide personnel at the front desk of Bldg. 1602, Room B306 at JEB Little Creek responsible for greeting guests, maintaining visitor log, and issuing visitor badges. The desk shall be manned from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- The selected candidate shall provide support to the Detachment’s Travel Systems, the Defense Travel System (DTS), and the legacy Corporate Travel System. The contractor shall receive approved standardized travel request forms from the Travel Drop Box, enter travel information into DTS to schedule/reserve travel and create travel orders, provide Government employee with signed travel orders and reservations, develop and prepare status reports, maintain Travel Log and remain current with DTS and Joint
- Travel Regulation (JTR) updates. All required training courses shall be completed.The selected candidate shall provide support for mail management functions. The contractor shall collect daily mail from the Base Post Office and distribute within C83.
- The selected candidate shall create, edit, copy, insert, delete, store, retrieve, and print standard correspondence and documents, which includes memorandums, letters, briefs, and reports.
- The selected candidate shall be responsible for copying, filing, faxing, CD/DVD copying, and standard document preparation, which includes memorandums, letters, briefs, and reports.
- The selected candidate shall provide support for meetings, conferences, and events which includes presentation preparations, brochure development, registration, preparation of displays, distribution of meeting minutes, and notes from the related discussions.
- The contractor shall provide support or attend events in support of NSWCCDDN. The contractor shall process and submit standardized gate access and visitor request forms to the C83 Security Officer.
- The selected candidate shall monitor the gate access and visitor request results as disseminated from the C83 Security Officer and report the gate access and visitor request status back to the designated Government personnel.
- The selected candidate shall utilize the Conference Room Reservation System (CRRS) to reserve spaces for conferences, meetings, and appointments. Government personnel will provide the contractor with the required date, anticipated number of attendees, and a generic meeting subject line for room reservation.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
- May be called upon to assist in other areas of administrative duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of direct related work experience required.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 35pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
