Position Summary
The faculty position will collaborate with the Director of Clinical Behavioral Sciences, and the Ethics Component Director to teach coursework and conduct assessments in behavioral science, and related ethical and practice management topics. The behaviorist scientist will participate in the behavioral science and ethics components of the DMD and DMDAS curricula. In addition, they will develop strategies to assure integration and application of behavioral science and ethics in the courses associated with comprehensive patient care.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee the organization and expansion of the behavioral science curriculum and its integration into clinic courses associated with Comprehensive Patient Care.
  • Develop and teach in the predoctoral Ethics and Behavioral Sciences curriculum in communication and interviewing, human behavior, anxiety control, patient motivation, patient management skills and ethics topics.
  • Represent the Department on College and University committees.
  • Assist in the integration of core competencies in Behavioral Sciences and Ethics into case-based teaching methods.
  • Participate in Small Group Learning and Team Based Learning.
  • Implement didactic assessment protocols that evaluate the performance of predoctoral students in all areas of Behavioral Sciences at the College of Dentistry, including the Behavioral Sciences OSCE and Ethics assessments.
  • Teach Ethics and Behavioral Science topics to graduate students and residents at the College.
