Overview Bowhead seeks a Program Analyst/Cyber Security Analyst to support the NIWC ISSS Submarine Software Tools and Development (SSTD) Cybersecurity and Automated Testing Support contract located in Norfolk, VA. Responsibilities • Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures for information systems to regulate access to computer data files and prevent unauthorized modification, intrusion, destruction, or disclosure of information.
• Ensures that the security design and implementation of federal IT systems and programs are in accordance with the governing DoD and DoN requirements.
• Develops plans to safeguard computer files and systems against accidental or unauthorized modification, intrusion, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.
• Participates in multi-disciplined engineering teams and provides system and network engineering recommendations for all required engineering disciplines including platform, hardware, software, firmware, and reliability/maintainability.
• Maintains and modernizes the infrastructure in order to enhance the ability to perform core missions.
• Performs risk assessments and executes tests of programs and systems to ensure functioning and security measures. • Conducts information assurance (IA) assessments based on the collection, analysis, and reporting of data in accordance with the appropriate security technology and government policy methods.
• Documents computer security and emergency measures policies, procedures, and tests.
• Analyzes assessments and implement an overall risk-based decision to effectively certify security controls and countermeasures and the overall security posture of Federal IT systems and programs, networks and infrastructures throughout information technology engineering lifecycles.
• Assists the government in executing full security engineering and review services while meeting all IA requirements respective to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Assists the government in ensuring cybersecurity is an integrated part of systems engineering and the security and IA solutions are effective and efficient.
• Supports development personnel coding activities using various coding languages and conducting code reviews.
• Conducts analysis and makes recommendations to improve scalability, efficiency, and stability of software. Qualifications * Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, engineering, or other relevant Technical discipline is required
* Minimum eight years (8) experience in support of the prevention of damage to, protection of, and restoration or computers, electronic communications systems, electronic communications services, wire communication, and electronic communication to ensure data availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and nonrepudiation; support to include: design secure systems, write secure computer code, and create the tools needed to prevent, detect, mitigate, and reconstitute information systems
* Experience interpreting source code analysis outputs to identify software vulnerabilities and identify findings
* Experience with recommending software development solutions to help neutralize security vulnerabilities
* Minimum IAT Level II Certification is required
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location. Physical Demands: • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
